NEW SHOW HOME OPEN IN NOVEMBER 2014

- The site is highly contaminated and is allocated for recreational purposes in the Local Plan.
APPROACH
- Although the site facilities were redundant, a consultation was opened at an early stage with the Local Authority and Sport England to discuss the principal of development and mitigations measures to facilitate the re-use of the site.
- Given the complex nature of the site history, Northern Trust worked closely with the Local Authority and Sport England, and held a public consultation event to invite public views on the scheme and identify sports and community facilities within the area which could benefit from further funding.
- A resolution to approve the outline planning proposals for residential development consisting of 71 new homes had been granted.
STATUS
- Northern Trust has entered into a Joint Partnership with local house builder Fellows Homes for the development of the site.
- Once completed the site will provide 70 new homes in a range of 2 and 3 bedroom terraces, semi-detached and detached family house styles.
- A proportion of affordable housing is included and incorporates a range of 1 and 2 bed apartments.
- Work has commenced on the first phase of the development and the marketing suite is now open on site. The show suite is open on site Thursday to Monday from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
